Leaning on his training and career of 21 years in the Air Force, Judge Henry has led Galveston County through some challenging times like Hurricane Harvey, Winter Storm Uri, the Covid-19 Pandemic, and Hurricane Beryl. Each time, Mark has met the challenge head-on by leading from the front and not shying away from aggressively fighting for Galveston County’s residents.
During the pandemic, Judge Henry was one of the only County Judges in Texas that refused to issue mandatory business closures or mask or vaccine mandates. Instead, Judge Henry advised for the public to use their own judgement and do seek guidance from their family medical doctor as to what was best for them. As a result, Galveston County's local economy was not as negatively impacted as we saw around the rest of the country.
